Forts in Goa:
Forts and monuments are the most important historical attractions of Goa that are worth visiting. Aguada Fort is about 18 km from Panaji city. It was the Portuguese stranglehold from 1609-1612, and was a shelter. Cabo De Rama Fort is 25 km away from the town of Margao. Chapora Fort lies on the banks of River Chapora and is now in wreck. You can clearly view the Vagator Beach. Tiracol Fort now works as a heritage hotel and Mormugao citadel is located near the Mormugao Harbor. Terekhol fort is situated on the northern tip of Goa, on a hillock facing the Arabian Sea. The ruins of the fort have now been converted into a hotel, the Terekhol Fort Heritage.
